El Fat Twin es la última novedad en la línea de soluciones con arquitectura Twin® de Flytech.

Este Fat Twin 4U amplía enormemente las capacidades de computación y almacenamiento más allá de los sistemas existentes 2U de Supermicro Twin v3 y 1U Twin. De este modo se puede lograr un mayor rendimiento con el menor consumo de energía.

Gracias a sus componentes compartidos y a su arquitectura modular hace que FatTwin tenga una configuración flexible y un mantenimiento fácil. Además mejora la rentabilidad y la fiabilidad.

¿De donde viene el Fat Twin?

El término Fat Twin es similar a otras expresiones conocidas en el mercado TI. Del mismo modo que Fat Tre, tecnología de comunicación que ha sido ampliamente utilizada en entornos HPC, es una topología de red que puede ser adaptada para utilizar eficazmente cualquier ancho de banda disponible. También tenemos el caso de Fat Client, que es un equipo en una arquitectura cliente-servidor que proporciona una gran funcionalidad independiente del servidor central.

Del mismo modo, el FatTwin es un sistema servidor potente y flexible y altamente escalable que ofrece grandes funcionalidades de computación que representa los más altos niveles de eficiencia energética y rendimiento. Con estas enormes ventajas, el FatTwin de Supermicro representa una revolución en la computación verde, diseñado para soportar aplicaciones críticas y reducir el TCO del centro de datos, demás de ayudar a preservar el medio ambiente.

Configuraciones disponibles para FatTwin

El FatTwin está disponible en configuraciones de alta densidad de 8/4/2 nodos de sistema, con una selección de capacidades de memoria, discos duros, fuentes de alimentación, conexiones delanteras o traseras, PCI y opciones de red y. Su alta eficiencia y eficaz arquitectura de refrigeración permite al FatTwin operar en ambientes con alta temperatura o sin refrigeración de hasta 47 °C, proporcionando un considerable ahorro de costes y su consecuente mejora del TCO.

Las Configuraciones versátiles permiten al FatTwin ser optimizado para diferentes entornos, incluyendo Data Center, Cloud, HPC e ingeniería, investigación y proyectos GPU, servidores de ficheros y almacenamiento o cualquier otra aplicación servidor en entorno empresarial.
